With Bentley's 100th anniversary scheduled for next year and the Mulliner division is celebrating its founder with a special edition Mulsanne. It pays tribute to the company's founding father, W.O. Bentley and includes a portion of one of his personal cars.
The special model can be ordered with a standard Mulsanne, Mulsanne Speed or Mulsanne Long Wheelbase. It was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley owned by W.O. The 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. The influence of this car can be seen in the cabin. For example, a Mulliner illuminated bar cabinet has the display of a piece of the 8 Litre crankshaft displayed inside.
Other highlights include a chrome application that runs across the back of the car with an air vent in the shape of a B that features W.O. The front grille is designed in 1930s-style Onyx, and there's also an optional chrome-colored application on the lower spoilers to the left and right. The key box is decorated with Bentley wings and comes with a black flock lining. Key pouches can be purchased to match or contrast the key box. "We wanted the knurling to look as consistent and elegant as possible," says Van Braekel. It was important to keep the dimensions and shape of the fob in line with the same shape and size.
Bentley Mulliner customers are able to choose any color from the Bentley portfolio, as well any combination of hides or veneers, and bespoke embroidery. Nearly 400,000 stitches provide Bentley's signature diamond-in-diamond quilting across the entire cabin, and the mood lighting can be adjusted to suit different moods.
Standard outside are illuminated treadplates and brushed silver clocks and new 22in wheels with self-leveling Bentley logos.
